Our work with youth in the Netherlands through the Gate has been expanding at a phenomenal rate. Two projects are in the works right now (The Gate Hippolytushoef and The Gate Den Helder) and are set to launch on both sides of this coming summer. 2013 has already been the beginning of many new things through The Gate/Teen Challenge Nederland. And more is on the way! Here are just a few things to look out for this year:
- Two new people will be joining the team (pictured above) by the summer
- A new radio station targeted at reaching youth throughout the Netherlands will launch in September. Thanks to Speed the Light and the generosity of one local church, $5,000.00 has been given to get this radio station off the ground! Thank you!
- A beautiful office suite has been donated to The Gate/Teen Challenge Nederland for the next two years (photos coming soon)
- A new Gate project will be launching in September in the city of Den Helder. We are blessed to have a building team coming from
Time Square Church in New York City to do the renovations work.
- Another new Gate project will be launching in the city of Hippolytushoef. The beauty of this is that two churches that split almost 15
years ago are coming together to make this project happen.
- The first Gate project in Lisse is beginning renvoations in May and is set for a Grand Re-Opening in September. (see the renovation
plans here)
- At the project in the village of Middenmeer, the regional goverment has recognized the impact of The Gate and has donated a brand
new space to it for one year to be used as a satellite location for special events and projects.
- In addition to all of this we have 11 other requests for Gate projects in the Netherlands plus two more in other European countries. Suffice it to say, the work is just beginning.
